The "Demon Queen" or ironmouse, as she is best known, just broke an all-time subscriber count record on Twitch. The virtual streamer (v-streamer) is donating 50% of her earnings to the Immune Deficiency Foundation. However, who is ironmouse, and how did she accomplish such a great achievement?

Who is ironmouse?

For those who are not very familiar with ironmouse, she's a v-streamer who loves anime, singing, voice acting, and gaming. In 2017, the Puerto Rican-American v-streamer started her career on YouTube as an indie content creator playing horror games. In 2020, she signed under the VShojo agency.

She is known for her low-key streams with lofi music and a cozy environment. You can find her singing or chatting with her followers when she's not playing video games. The pandemic was when her fan base started to grow significantly on Twitch.

Why the Immune Deficiency Foundation?

For those who don't know, ironmouse was diagnosed with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). It's an immune disease that as left her largely bedridden and isolated. In 2017, she started streaming to occupy her time since she had nothing else to do. Her high-pitched speaking voice is the result of a lung infection due to CVID complications, which also requires her to use oxygen support.

These complications prevented her from pursuing her dream career as an opera singer.

She is often associated with raising awareness about CVID and encouraging plasma donations for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. These donations can improve the quality of life for those suffering from primary immunodeficiency.

Most-subscribed streamer on Twitch

This isn’t the first time Ironmouse has broken a record. She became the top Twitch female broadcaster two years ago. Last year, ironmouse won the Content Creator of the Year award at The Games Awards 2023, becoming the first virtual YouTuber (VTuber) to ever win in that category.

Today, she broke Kai Cenat's record of subscribers, reaching a total of 306,621.

Some people came to ironmouse's defense after her new record. Streamer Ludwig was among those complementing ironmouse for her achievement, taking the time to appreciate her life story and presence on Twitch.
