ExtraEmily has been banned for just a short period of time on Twitch, due to some less-than-legal actions in a recent IRL stream.

Emily "ExtraEmily" Zhang has been banned on Twitch for a short period of time. She was caught on stream running a red light in her vehicle. It looks like the higherups at the purple platform caught wind and decided to teach her a lesson.

Let's take a look at all the details.

Why was ExtraEmily banned on Twitch?

This isn't the first time ExtraEmily has made the news this year. If you remember, she was caught on stream allegedly saying a racial slur. That is all behind her now apparently, but she finds herself in another bit of controversy.

This time, while doing an IRL stream from her car, ExtraEmily ran a red light. The camera was on her, and for some reason, she flipped it forward for a POV of the car itself. Then she immediately broke the law and claimed it happens there in Austin, Texas all the time because the lights last too long.

Well, regardless of her reasoning, breaking the law is breaking the law. And Twitch had ExtraEmily banned, but it is no more than a slap on the wrist. There are other offenses out that that have seen people go with a ban at all, but this one makes sense.

How long is the ban?

The ban occurred at approximately 1:34 a.m. PT on April 13, 2025. Per ExtraEmily via her Discord channel, she was only banned from Twitch for just a day or so. She responded by calling the incident a "mishap," but that the ban was "understandable."
