Cody Ko has officially made his first statement following the Tana Mongeau allegations.

Cody Ko has finally released his first statement following the Tana Mongeau allegations (well... sort of). The popular YouTuber released an online statement earlier the other day signed by both him and Noel Miller, the co-owner of TMG Studios.

While the statement did address the allegations, it very quickly glossed over the situation, stating that Ko is planning on stepping away from TMG Studios' day-to-day operations for the time being.

Cody Ko steps away from TMG Studios in statement following Tana Mongeau allegations

Just the other week, news surfaced that Cody Ko had sexual relations with Tana Mongeau, another popular creator, when she was only 17. At the time, Ko was 25 years old, and in the state of Florida (where it happened) the age of consent is 18.

Since the news hit the internet, Ko had neglected to give fans a statement. Earlier, the other day, though, TMG Studios released an official statement signed by both Ko and Miller. How much of this statement was Ko involved in making, though? No one knows.

TMG Studios' statement addressing the allegations

In a recent email, many fans who subscribe to TMG Studios' newsletter received an email stating that Cody Ko will be taking a step back from day-to-day operations.

“As we enter into this next phase of the studio, we wanted to let you know that Cody will not be involved in the day-to-day operations at TMG Studios,” reads the statement signed by both Ko and Miller. "What has transpired over the past few weeks is a personal issue for him, and Cody wants to remove any effect this is having on your professional and personal lives and the work you and our other hosts have done to make TMG Studios so successful.”

The problem with this email is it does not actually read as Ko taking any accountability for his past actions, as for all we know, the entire piece was written by Miller.

The two creators' Tiny Meat Gang Podcast is still planning on releasing episodes, with Miller as the host instead of Ko.

Whether or not Ko will make a personal statement is yet to be known.
