He has been training for this for more than a year.

Doug ‘Censor’ Martin has broken the record for the most number of pull-ups in a single day. The player has been preparing for this moment after hanging up his mouse earlier this year. And he broke the record in style.

Censor breaks Record for Most Pull Ups in a Day

Censor has broken the record for most pull ups in a 24-hour period. The streamer has been training for this attempt for more than a year and he had released a video before going in for the try.

The goal was to raise money for Project Purple which helps patients with Pancreatic Cancer. Having lost his grandmother to Pancreatic cancer when he was a kid, this is a mission close to his heart.

How much Time did he take to complete 9,250 pull-ups

Censor started the attempt with a goal of completing as many puill-ups as he can in 24 hours. But he had already completed 9,250 pull-ups with omre than five hours to spare.

Censor retired from Pro competition earlier this year, putting an end to a 13-year-old career. When he announced his retirement, he had also revealed his intention to break the record for the most number of pull-ups in a single day. At the time of the announcement, the world record for the most pull-ups in a single day was 8,600 pull-ups by Gary Lloyd.

His social media post showed the impact the attempt had on his hands which look completely worn out. With blisters, heavy callouses and wear and tear, the attempt has had significant damage on his hands.

How much was raised for charity?

Censor managed to raise more than $8,500 for Charity. The final amount is not yet known but we will update the article when more information becomes available.

The record was later broken by Japan’s Kenta Adachi in February. Adachi completed 8,940 pull-ups in a 24 hour period. Censor’s incredible feat was an attempt to raise funds for Project Purple. Project Purple is a non-profit organization empowering the fight against pancreatic cancer. Project Purple has invested more than $3.5 million in research, establishing the world’s largest high-risk consortium for genetic mutations linked to pancreatic cancer and Nebraska’s first high-risk clinic for pancreatic cancer.

Community Reacts to Incredible Feat

Several streamers and community figures came out in unison to congratulate Censor for his feat. Courage called it an absolutely incredible achievement. Several other figures such as Pashabiceps, Attach, SCUF and Tmartn congratulated the former CoD player.
