The RLCS 2022-23 World Championship has witnessed some of the best Rocket League play ever to be seen! Sixteen teams went into the group stage and four of them have already booked their place in the RLCS World Championship playoffs.

Let's take a look at the teams involved at the top and all you need to know heading into the backend of the playoffs!

Team Liquid in its first RLCS World Championship

Going into their first RLCS World Championship, this young team has worked hard to be among the top Rocket League teams in the world.

Team Liquid faced Complexity Gaming in its first match. The two teams fought back-and-forth to a standstill across the first six games, to no avail. The match continued to game seven, which was when Oski managed to score the winning goal with eleven seconds on the clock.

The team then faced KRÜ Esports, who is on a roll after defeating fellow SAM team Ninjas in Pyjamas. KRÜ Esports has been a defensive wall all season, nearly impenetrable. However, Team Liquid was firing hot on offense, breaking down that KRÜ Esports wall and knocking them down to the lower bracket.

Oski said in the post-match interview, "Each time we played them (SAM region teams), it gets harder. I feel like each team we play from the minor regions, they always play better. (For example) Elevate, they improved a lot. I feel like the minor regions are gonna come up. He then continued to talk about their drive to move forward, "Top eight, it's what we do every major, we kind of used to it by now. As I said, the work we put into this LAN (Worlds) especially, we need to at least get the top 4 to be satisfied."

KRÜ Esports faces Team Falcons next in the lower bracket. Meanwhile, Team Liquid waits in the playoffs and will go against the winner of Spacestation Gaming and Rule One.

Team Vitality take down number one team

Despite a valiant effort, Team Vitality has its gameplan figured out and wouldn't let Moist Esports take a single game.

Vitality continued its confident striking against NA's number one team, SpaceStation Gaming. The french organization was vicious in a convincing outing, only dropping one game against Spacestation Gaming in overtime of game two. SpaceStation Gaming fell to the lower bracket and go against the MENA team, Rule One.

Team Vitality now places among the top eight teams in the tournament, and face the winner of the match between KRÜ Esports and Team Falcons.
