It feels like Psyonix finally hears the feedback from the community, as it’s another really good Season coming to Rocket League! The game receives more than just a bunch of cosmetics, and the items available in Rocket Pass look pretty great.
Season 20 starts in Rocket League on Sept. 17 and continues till Dec. 3. It was revealed during the RLCS 2025 World Championship.
The community’s reaction is very positive. Players enjoy having extra activities and gameplay content in addition to strictly cosmetic items for their cars and profiles. The developers followed the same process they started with the 10th anniversary-inspired Season 19, so even greater things should come to the game.
Everything you need to know about Rocket League Season 20 is here.
Pontiac Firebird and Chevrolet Astro in Rocket League Season 20
Two new car bodies are available in Season 20 via Rocket Pass Premium. They will fit nicely in your Rocket League garage!
- Pontiac Firebird, with the Breakout hitbox: You get it at the very beginning of the seasonal progress.
- Chevrolet Astro, with the Merc hitbox: Unlock this minivan in some higher Rocket Pass Premium tiers.
Boostfield Mall Arena
This new soccar field is fun and colorful. It certainly is a nice place to hang out with friends — and play Rocket League, of course.
4v4 Rocket League on bigger Arenas
During Season 19, we could enjoy a few unusual Rocket League limited-time events (LTEs) and modes (LTMs), like 3v3 adidas Soccar Strike or Possession Rumble. In Season 20, the game makes an even braver move.
The 4v4 mode joins the set of Competitive playlists! Succeeding here requires a fresh approach to team strategies, and you can practice that in Casual matches as well.
To make the 4v4 action possible, Rocket League introduces two larger Arenas.
Sonic the Hedgehog in Rocket League
The blue hedgehog is coming to Fortnite, and also, some Sonic-related items will be available in Season 20 of Rocket League. We could see them in the reveal trailer: a topping and a goal effect. Also, there will be Sonic Sidescroller Player Banner and Sonic Looper Wheels.
Sonic items in Rocket League are not the only part of this great collaboration. Soccar gets an LTM related to the Hedgehog. It starts deeper into Season 20, so the details should be revealed later.
Changes to Rocket Pass Premium in Season 20
Rocket League receives changes in progression through Rocket Pass Premium tiers.
- No more Premium Challenges: all the rewards are available for everyone.
- No more items in Weekly and Seasonal Challenges, only XP.
- Some changes happen in total XP from Challenges: less XP in Seasonal Challenges overall and more XP for some individual Challenges.
Another thing in Season 20 is that the Rocket League Competitive Playlist is now available after completing special New Driver Challenges. They replace the previous requirement to reach Level 20. The idea is to reduce the number of smurfs, and we need to see how it works out.
The general art style of cosmetics in Season 20 is whirling around cheerful shopping malls and colorful retro arcades. Sure, the items create an exciting atmosphere. Take a look at the Mad Rad Wheels, which are available for free — just log in to the game.
The CARTOGRAPHER Player Title is also available for free during Season 20. It’s made to celebrate Lethamyr’s contributions to the Rocket League community.
On the esports side of things, we have an inter-seasonal transfer window after the RLCS 2025 World Championship. Some pro players should be welcomed in their new orgs to get prepared for the RLCS 2026 season.
