It’s a great success for the region in general, for NRG as an esports organization, and for these three players. While other tournament favorites had rather a turbulent experience, NRG just marched to the grand final, where they destroyed Falcons.

Before this season started, the community was somewhat shocked to discover that G2 Strive had quit the Rocket League esports scene. The organization already had the London Major win in its pocket and a 2nd-place finish at the 2024 World Championship. The biggest concern was for the players — this roster was just amazing.

We don’t know the backstage processes, but it seemed like NRG didn’t miss the opportunity. The organization signed the roster, including the coach, and now the investment has completely paid off. At the Rocket League World Championship 2025, NRG claimed the biggest title in soccer esports.

For players BeastMode, Daniel, and Atomic, it’s the first title of this level in their careers. The organization made a glorious return to the top of the Rocket League scene. For North America, it proved that the region can beat the European and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions at the highest level of competition.

NRG’s run through the two stages of Rocket League World Championship 2025

The general impression from this Rocket League esports event is that NRG made it to the top without any unnecessary drama.

  • In the Group Stage, NRG won two matches to advance to the final brackets.

However, the match versus Ninjas in Pyjamas was extremely close. The opponents were one step away from a reverse sweep, but NRG did not let that happen.

The advancement match versus Team Secret was much more confident on the NRG side.

  • In the Playoffs, NRG sent fellow North Americans to the lower brackets, The Ultimates. Then, NRG smashed Geekay Esports in the semi and did not let Team Falcons play their game in the grand final.

Looking back to this tournament run, you clearly can notice how tough the battle was versus The Ultimates. That was the only seven-game match in the Playoffs stage of Rocket League World Championship 2025. It could go both ways easily.

Geekay Esports clearly had no chance against NRG this time. It’s great to see this team making it to the top placements again, like they did at Rocket League EWC 2025. NRG just outclassed these opponents.

Team Falcons looked like the biggest tournament favorites after eliminating Karmine Corp. NRG had other plans, and they made their dream of the World Champions titles come true! Despite their pressure and great defense, Falcons could take only one game in the grand final.

Ups and downs of Karmine Corp

At the Rocket League World Championship 2025 event, many expected Karmine Corp to take the trophy. They had a great competitive season, including the Birmingham Major win. Their most recent achievement is the win at the Rocket League Esports World Cup 2025 event.

Also, the RLCS 2025 World Finals took place in France, so Karmine Corp had all the crowd support they could dream of.

In reality, the team got a rollercoaster of an event, with high ups and low downs.

  • The Ultimates defeated Karmine Corp in the advancement match of Group A. KC fell to the lower brackets, which meant being on the verge of elimination till the end of the tournament.
  • In the Playoffs, Karmine Corp eliminated The Ultimates with a brilliant 4-0. The fans sure felt over the moon after that.
  • Team Falcons demonstrated miracles of defense in their match versus Karmine Corp. The exceptional shots of dralii, Vatira, and Atow. just did not work. On the other hand, Falcons delivered crucial goals to win — 1-0s in two final games to seal the deal.

The downfall of Vitality

In a way, the story of this Vitality roster is similar to NRG. Team BDS quit Rocket League esports after winning World Championship 2024. Team Vitality signed M0nkey M00n, ExoTiiK, and the coach Kassio for the RLCS 2025 season. Still, these guys couldn’t find their big success this year.

  • Team Vitality got eliminated from the Group Stage, which feels like a disaster for players of this level. They lost to Falcons and NiP.

Some games with Vitality were spectacular, but heartbreaking for the fans. The team was two games down, including one with a 0-8 in the match versus Spacestation. That reverse sweep felt like a miracle. Then, Falcons hit Vitality with 2-6.

Everyone is a fan of Wildcard now

Okay, almost everyone — we love the stories of successful underdogs from smaller regions, and Australian players treat us to one again.

During the RLCS 2024 World Championship, the team PWR surprised the community with some really great matches. In 2025, it was the turn of the Wildcard’s Australian roster to do the same.

  • Wildcard defeated FURIA and Dignitas with 3-0! These are not your simplest opponents at all.

It doesn’t matter too much that Wildcard couldn’t continue this success in the Playoffs. A team from Oceania in the top 6? It’s an amazing achievement and a great promise for more surprises at future international Rocket League tournaments.

The RLCS 2026 season starts after a break, which includes the next major transfer window. Meanwhile, everyone can enjoy Rocket League Season 20 — the developers made it a good one.
