There were some serious doubts about the current power of Karmine Corp. The disappointing result at the Raleigh Major shook the team’s reputation as the best in the world. To get it back, KC won the Rocket League Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025). Moreover, they defeated some of the biggest powerhouses during their run.
Karmine Corp faced the best North American Rocket League team in the upper final of the group stage. KC won over NRG to qualify for the playoffs early.
In the quarterfinal, Karmine Corp destroyed South American dreams at the Rocket League EWC 2025. KC defeated and eliminated Team Secret.
The crowd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, openly booed Karmine Corp during the semifinal. Sure, it was the match against the local celebrities, Team Falcons. KC did not mind being in this atmosphere, as they sent the Raleigh Major winners into the 3rd-place match.
In the grand final, Geekay Esports had no chance at all. The opponents woke up when Karmine Corp reached the match and tournament point. Sure, upsets happened before, when Twisted Minds performed a reverse sweep against KC in Raleigh, but not this time.

The state of the Rocket League esports scene before the World Championship 2025
Even with its impressive prize pool and the scale of competition, the EWC still can't compare to the hype around the Rocket League World Championship. In 2025, the World Finals head to Lyon, France — and we all know how passionate the French fans are!
Around a month before the World Championship 2025, we could witness the current power balance between the main regions.
- European teams are on the rise! In the top 4, three teams are from EU: Karmine Corp, Team Vitality, and Geekay Esports.
- Team Falcons are extremely strong despite their loss to KC. They dominated most of their matches and won a close Rocket League battle versus Vitality.
- Two North American teams made it to the playoffs, and both lost in the quarterfinals. The Ultimates, who hit the grand final at the Birmingham Major, were eliminated from the EWC 2025 Group stage.
- South America has a kind of internal crisis. FURIA players couldn’t make it to the playoffs, and they are the usual leaders of their region. Team Secret did not look too good in the quarterfinal versus KC.

Like in some other competitive titles, the top placements in Rocket League esports are occupied by a few orgs. They rotate as tournament winners, and it’s a rare occasion to see some other teams reaching the grand final.
Geekay Esports is rather a small org. Sure, they refreshed their roster in the beginning of 2025 — but it’s not like Team Vitality that signed the World Champions.
Archie, Joyo, and oaly gathered under Geekay Esports, and suddenly, they are the top team. GK won the EU regional qualifier after defeating Karmine Corp. And they reached the grand final at the Rocket League EWC 2025!
Underdog wins are healthy for the industry. You may not really care about GK, but the power their example brings to the scene is wonderful for everyone.
