Epic Games has introduced Voice Chat reporting in Rocket League starting with Season 18.

Rocket League Season 18 introduces enhanced voice reporting, a feature already available in Fortnite, to improve player safety and community standards. This system allows players to report inappropriate behavior in voice chat, submitting audio clips directly to Epic Games for review. If you’re wondering how to report voice chat in Rocket League, look no further.

This guide will walk you through the process, how to check the status of your report, and how to adjust your voice chat settings for a better gaming experience.

How to report Voice chat in Rocket League?

If you encounter inappropriate behavior in Rocket League’s voice chat, follow these steps to report it:

  1. Open the Sidebar and navigate to the Voice Chat tab.
  2. Click the "Report Conversation" button.
  3. Once the report screen loads, press "Submit Report" to finalize.
  4. Close the screen and return to your game.

All reports are anonymous so the opposite player cannot see who reported them. This ensures that reports do not end up creating problems between friends and teammates. As a player, you will only know you have been reported if action is taken against you.

Players must have voice reporting on if they wish to submit audio clips and help improve the community. However, if they do not have the settings on, they can always mute or block accounts that are creating an inappropriate environment in Rocket League games.

How to Manage Your Voice Chat Settings in Rocket League

Players Under 18

By default, voice reporting is enabled for all players under 18. However, players or their guardians can adjust privacy settings:

  • Mute yourself or disable voice chat entirely by selecting “Off” in the Voice Chat settings.
  • Parents or guardians can manage a child’s voice chat settings via the Epic Account portal using Epic Games’ Parental Controls.

Players Over 18

If you're over 18, you can modify your voice chat settings in Rocket League as follows:

  • Open the Rocket League Settings menu
  • Navigate to Voice Chat settings
  • Under Voice Reporting, choose:
    • "Always On" – Voice reporting is always active.
    • "Off When Possible" – Voice reporting is only active if at least one party member has it enabled.

Note: If you have "Always On" selected, your voice chat will be recorded and submitted for review if a report is filed. Based on your reports, Epic Games will take action on accounts that flout community rules.

How to Check if Voice Reporting is Enabled in Your Party

If you are playing in a party, there is a high chance that one or more members of your party will have their voice reporting on. As a player, it is important for you to know whether your party has voice reporting on, to check:

  • Open the Sidebar and check the Voice Reporting status.
  • If enabled, voice chat may be recorded and reviewed if a report is submitted.

How to know if a submitted Voice Report has resulted in some action?

You can track the status of your report taken using the URL provided when you finish submitting a text report (as shown in the image below).

You can also track the status of your report after logging in or inserting the “Report ID” here: https://safety.epicgames.com/en-US/policies/reporting-misconduct/my-reports

How Long Does Epic Games Keep Audio Clips?

The audio clips submitted will remain with Epic Games for a period of 14 days after which they are auto-deleted. If you do not see any action taken against the reported player in 14 days, it is highly likely that the player has not been found to be breaking the community rules in Rocket League.
