Cloud9 have made a shocking revelation regarding their Rocket League roster. The North American organization revealed they will part ways with the roster

Cloud9 drop Rocket League roster

Cloud9 signed their Rocket League roster in April this year. The signing promised big things and fans were eager to see what Cloud9 could do in Rocket League. Fast forward a few months, and the organization has already dropped their roster.

The announcement, somewhat expected comes on the back of a string of poor results by the Cloud9 roster. The team has not had the best of luck when it comes to their esports ventures. They failed to qualify for multiple leagues via the open qualifiers. They finished 4th in the Frost Esports Polar League #3 and a lowly 9-11th in the NA Regional qualifier. The team’s failure to qualify for some of the biggest events in Rocket League was definitely a factor in the org’s decision.

We are committed to competing in Rocket League and will have more roster information soon.

However, it’s not all bad news as the org has confirmed that it will continue to remain in esports. Cloud9’s commitment to Rocket League remains and they will be back in the esports albeit with a new roster.

The Rocket League Champs took place at the Copperbox Arena in London last month and saw massive crowds in attendance. G2 Stride won the event after a dominant performance in the Grand Finals. They defeated Team Falcons 4-1 to lift the trophy. That victory helped Cloud9 secure $75,000 in prize money and 40 RLCS points as well.

Dry Season in Rocket League

With RLCS Champs coming up soon, there is going to be a dearth of esports events in Rocket League soon. There is anticipation that other orgs will also be dropping their rosters only to pick them up closer to the start of the new season.

The former Cloud9 Rocket League roster is as follows:

  • Kadin "Zineel" Zineelabidine
  • Oliver Kenneth "percy." Ortiz
  • Hunter "LionBlaze" Woitas
  • Didi "Didi" Eragoda (Coach)
