Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming RLCS World Championship, including the dates, venue, format, prize pool and teams qualified.

It is finally time for the biggest Rocket League tournament of the season! The Rocket League World Championship (RLCS) 2022-23 World Championship will be the culmination of the 2022-23 season. We will see twenty-four top teams of the world compete for their share of a humongous amount of prize pool and the World Champion titles.

Throughout the season, we have witnessed the rise and fall of teams and experienced the highest moments of Rocket League yet. It is now time to wave the flags of your favorite team and give them their biggest boost to win the World Championship.

Before that, let's take a look at everything we know about the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship

When is the RLCS World Championship?

The World Championship will be ongoing starting from August 3 until August 13. Here are the dates for all stages in the tournament:

  • Wildcard: August: 3 - August 6
  • Group Stage: August 8 - August 12
  • Playoffs: August 13

The event will be open to live crowd on the last three days of the championship which are on August 11 until August 13.

Where will it be held?

The top Rocket League players will head to Düsseldorf, Germany for the World Championship. The event will be held at the PSD Bank Dome, which has a capacity of more than 10,000 people.

What's the total prize pool of the World Championship?

The RLCS World Championship will see teams competing for their share of the $2,100,000 USD total prize pool. The followings are the prize pool distributions for every placement:

What is the format of the tournament?

The format will be different for each stage.

The Wildcard event will be a Swiss System format with sixteen teams, with all matches being a best-of-seven (Bo7). The top eight will then proceed to the Group Stage.

The eight teams will meet up with another eight who previously auto-qualified for the Group Stage. They will be split into two groups of eight. Each group will face a double-elimination bracket, with all matches being a Bo7. The top four teams from each group will proceed to the Playoffs.

Lastly, the Playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket, with Bo7 matches.

Which teams qualified for the World Championship?

There will be twenty-four teams in the RLCS World Championship. Eight teams have directly qualified for the Group Stage. Meanwhile, the other sixteen teams will have to go through the Wildcard event.

Eight top teams from the Wildcard event will proceed to meet the other eight teams in the Group Stage.

RLCS World Championship Schedule

On the last three days of the tournament, the Rocket League broadcast will start the First Touch Pre-Show at 4:15 p.m. CEST (7:15 a.m. PT) on Friday and 2 p.m. CEST (5:15 a.m. PT) on Saturday and Sunday.
