The upcoming seasons are pretty exciting! The game is boosted to a new level with an improved version and fresh gameplay elements.
Rainbow Six Siege has been around for 10 years, and the devs are ready for 10 more. That was a statement they started the R6 roadmap reveal: which sure highlights 2025 only.
To make the upcoming longevity possible, Ubisoft releases a new version, named Siege X. In fact, it was already playable on the top-most level: during the Major tournament RE:L0:AD Rio 2025. The community is eager to get their hands on the improved R6! Now, we know when the full release happens.
The roadmap for Rainbow Six Siege X includes Season 1, which is happening right now. The most exciting things start with Season 2, and it’s right around the corner.
Operation Daybreak and the R6 Siege X release date
The biggest reveals of the R6 roadmap are the official launch of Siege X and the start of the first Operation.
- Rainbow Six Siege X is out on June 10. It’s not just a new name: the game evolves to modern standards.
- Operation Daybreak comes with quite a few interesting gameplay features: an Operator remaster, balancing updates, a new effect of electricity, and nerfs of limb damage.
All the details of R6 Siege X roadmap were revealed during the esports event RE:L0:AD Rio 2025.
Big changes in Siege X
The release of Rainbow Six Siege X introduces modernized versions of five maps: Bank, Clubhouse, Kafe, Border, and Chalet. They receive more details, lighting, and high resolution. Every new season should bring other improved R6 maps.
One of the key features of R6 is destructible elements. With Siege X, there will be more such objects on the game maps: for example, gas pipes and fire distinguishers.
New movement tricks will allow players to reach unusual spots. The communication wheel is in the game to share quick callouts with teammates. The competitive aspect becomes more intense thanks to the new pick-ban system.
Siege X Operators: Remasters, balance updates, and new characters
In Season 2 of Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10, one of the Operators gets significantly remastered — Clash. She is the first-ever Defender with a shield, and the girl can now put the thing on the ground. Clash’s shield shoots electricity around itself to slow down opponents and make them easier targets.
To make this remastered version of Clash not too broken, the developers change how electricity works in R6 Siege. It affects the movement but doesn’t deal damage. It sure deactivates all the gadgets.
The deployed electric shield can be easily destroyed with explosives or by pushing it away at close range.

R6 ShieldGuard and anti-toxicity efforts
With all the thrill around the new content, the developers of Siege X started their R6 Year 10 roadmap reveal with even more important announcements. In a nutshell, they introduce a new anti-cheat system, R6 ShieldGuard, and they work further to decrease toxicity in the community.
- R6 ShieldGuard continues the fight against cheating. This problem plagues many popular shooting games, and R6 Siege X is going to evolve faster to put more obstacles for cheat creators and users.
- Anti-toxicity efforts are aiming for creating a safer and more enjoyable environment: no bad language in the chats, no toxic behavior in the game, and high punishments for regular match quitters. A new reputation system is introduced with Siege X, and it should increase the number of positive players. The result of these anti-toxicity efforts is already visible in Season 1 of Year 10.
