North American and European teams made it to the final match of this Rainbow Six Siege X esports Major. Many strong favorites fell on the way, including the Brazilian powerhouses.

It certainly feels like the Major in Munich has cemented a new era in R6 esports. North America finally broke the curse of being the third region on the global scene. Europe reached the top placements for the second big event in a row. South America struggled on each stage, losing their crown as the dominating favorites.

The winners of R6 Major 2025 in Munich are decided in the grand final on Nov. 16. Team Falcons face M80 for the ultimate tournament victory.

Falcons vs M80: The R6 Munich Major 2025 grand final

To win this match and the entire Rainbow Six Siege X Major in Munich, M80 and Falcons should secure three maps. In their tournament runs, these teams proved they can deliver the max competitive excitement!

Flawless groups, regional battles, and wins over FaZe

Team Falcons and M80 followed some similar patterns on their way to the Munich Major grand final. For both, being in this decisive match is quite an achievement.

R6 Falcons

The current roster of Team Falcons was formed in March 2025. These players reached the top 8 at RE:L0:AD Rio de Janeiro 2025 but could not win a single match at the R6 Esports World Cup 2025. To qualify for the Munich Major, Falcons won the Stage 2 season in Europe & MENA.

In the Major’s Group Stage, Falcons needed only three rounds to advance to the Playoffs. These were quick and confident wins over Shopify Rebellion, Dplus, and w7m esports. Thanks to this success, Falcons joined the final brackets with the upper semifinals.

The first Playoffs opponents for Falcons were G2 Esports. It was the repeat of the regional qualifier and the early Swiss rounds: Falcons won and sent G2 to the lower brackets.

In the upper final, Falcons faced the reigning World Champions, FaZe Clan. The teams exchanged dominant maps, and Falcons celebrated a great win over FaZe.

M80 R6 Munich Major

This Rainbow Six Siege X esports team is arguably the biggest discovery of the Major 2025 in Munich. M80 were in the top 16 at RE:L0:AD, and they did not participate in the R6 EWC 2025. Surprisingly, M80 won the Stage 2 tournament in North America.

Even more unexpected was that M80 qualified for the R6 Munich Major Playoffs with three wins in the Group Stage: over G2, FaZe, and Team Secret. These are not your easiest opponents at all!

In the semifinal, M80 lost to FaZe Clan, and we even thought their Cinderella story was over. Not really, as M80 defeated Secret again to eliminate the EWC winners. Then, we could witness a clash of NA teams, and M80 sent Wildcard home.

To seal this exceptional success, M80 won the lower final at R6 Munich Major — over FaZe Clan. It wasn’t an easy match, and only in the Map 3 overtime, M80 secured two crucial rounds.

Struggles of the Brazilian teams

Disturbing news came to the South American fans event from the Swiss Stage at R6 Munich Major. The Brazilian teams, who were generally considered the biggest favorites at this esports tournament, failed to perform decently in the initial rounds. Then, they just got eliminated from the Playoffs, with no chance to battle for the trophy.

  • w7m esports continued their rollercoaster period: from the top 4 at RE:L0:AD to the top 12 at the Esports World Cup and then to not making it to the Munich Major Playoffs.

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas took the full ride during the Swiss Stage: all five rounds. A loss to Weibo and wins over EU and NA teams? That wasn’t reassuring. NiP lost to Wildcard in the lower Round 1 and repeated their top 8 results from the EWC 2025.

  • FURIA started the tournament by losing to Dplus and Shopify Rebellion — which wasn’t a good sign. Two of their Swiss Stage wins were over CAG and ENTERPRISE Esports, and both are from Asia Pacific, the underdog region. After losing to Team Secret in the lower Round 1, the RE:L0:AD Rio de Janeiro 2025 champions were eliminated from the Major.

  • FaZe went much further than their regional comrades. Reaching the top 3 is a good result overall, but the expectations from the Six Invitational 2025 winners were higher.

G2 Esports and Secret: A rematch of the EWC 2025 grand final

These teams reached the top at the R6 Esports World Cup 2025, and they faced each other again during the Munich Major Playoffs.

  • Team Secret couldn’t repeat their EWC success, as they lost with two disastrous maps: 2:7 on Lair and 1:7 on Kafe. They eliminated FURIA but fell victims to M80.

  • G2 Esports certainly were happy with their revenge, but the celebration wasn’t long. They lost to Falcons and Wildcard in the following matches.

Wildcard

The Major in Munich became the second big R6 esports tournament in 2025 with the top 4 placement for Wildcard. The progress of this team is impressive!

  • Wildcard finished 4th at RE:L0:AD earlier this year. In Munich, they defeated such strong opponents as w7m esports, NiP, and G2 Esports.

Asia Pacific

No team from this region advanced to the Playoffs, but still, Asia Pacific delivered great moments during the Munich Major.

  • Dplus won their opening match over FURIA.

  • ENTERPRISE Esports gave quite a fight to FURIA and w7m esports.

  • Only CAG Osaka had no wins during this Major, which is really disappointing, considering their top 2 finish at RE:L0:AD 2025.

At the Munich Major, the Rainbow Six Siege X teams earned valuable global standings points — to qualify for the Six Invitational 2026. This R6 World Championship happens from Feb. 2 to Feb. 15 in Paris, France.
