Philadelphia 76ers, Crypto.com partner to unveil ‘Spectrum Sprint,’ part of first-ever Web3 mobile video game series in NBA

The Philadelphia 76ers and Crypto.com will unveil “Spectrum Sprint,” a Web3 mobile video game where players can earn digital collectibles.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Crypto.com will unveil on Sunday, Dec. 22, “Spectrum Sprint,” a Web3 mobile video game through which players can unlock and earn digital collectibles in a Web3 locker and win exclusive 76ers prizes.

This game is part of a series of Web3 games centered around the 76ers’ 2024-25 Nike City Edition uniforms and the iconic Philadelphia Spectrum, home to the 76ers from 1967-96. The 76ers are the first team in the NBA to launch a series of Web3 video games to celebrate a uniform.

“Spectrum Sprint” is the main game of the three-game Web3 series. Gameplay will allow users to engage in a pixelated side-scrolling journey that features iconic Philadelphia landmarks, various Spectrum-era easter eggs, and a variety of obstacles and power-ups that will unlock unique digital collectibles minted on the Crypto.com blockchain.

Users will virtually dash, jump, and dodge their way down Broad Street to reach The Spectrum, where a top-score sprint will enhance each player’s digital collection, resulting in a chance to score big, both in-game and in real life.

“At the 76ers, one of our goals is to provide our fans with a unique experience and create methods of engagement to reach new audiences,” said Tommy Beebe, 76ers VP, Creative Director. “We are fortunate to have a great relationship with our partner, Crypto.com, who shares this mission of using our distinct brands in creating these experiences, like becoming the first team to develop a Web3 mobile video game in the NBA. We cannot wait for everyone to play ‘Spectrum Sprint’ and look forward to seeing all the high scores!”

Within the game, players can enhance their gaming experience by unlocking collectible badges, skins, and accessories inside their Web3 locker. The higher your score, the better the tiers of collectibles you unlock. “Spectrum Sprint” features four tiers, each earning sweepstakes entries for unique prizes and experiences: Rookie, Pro, All-Star, and Legend. Sweepstakes winners receive all prizes listed in tiers below their level (ex. If you are the Legend Tier sweepstakes winner, you receive all prizes).

  • Legend Tier
  • Prize: Legendary 76ers Package
  • 2 Courtside seats to a 2025-26 season home game
  • 4 Invitations to attend the 2025-26 76ers Blue x White Scrimmage courtside
  • 2 2025 Sixers Youth Foundation Gala Invitations
  • 1 Suite for 12 guests for a 2025-26 home game
  • All-Star Tier
  • Prize: Two courtside seats to a 2025-26 home game
  • Pro Tier
  • Prize: Piece of the Spectrum Court
  • Rookie Tier
  • Prize: Autographed Joel Embiid City Edition Jersey

Additionally, the game will feature an interactive leaderboard showcasing the top players and their scores. The top three leaders during three key moments of the season, with a snapshot taken on Jan. 16 and two TBA dates, will earn exclusive access to coveted experiences, including VIP seats to a City Edition game, pregame warmup access, participation in an on-court activation, a tour of the Penn Medicine Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex, and an invitation to the 2025 Sixers Youth Foundation Gala.

To keep players engaged in the game throughout the season, “Spectrum Sprint” will feature an additional level so players can unlock and earn more digital collectibles, expanding their Web3 locker. This new level will be unveiled in February.

“The entire 76ers team on and off the court is always eager to innovate, and the fans are some of the most passionate in the league – that’s a powerful combination,” said Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer of Crypto.com. “We’re excited to partner with the Sixers on the launch of the first of its kind ‘Spectrum Sprint’ Web3 game in the NBA and hope the fans love it as much as we do.”

During each remaining “Spirit of 76 Night” game at The Center this season, the 76ers and Crypto.com will bring “Spectrum Sprint” to life with an on-court version of the game. The court will transform into a digital, pixelated playground, where a lucky fan will experience the thrilling, fast-paced challenge to collect coins before time runs out.

76ers fans can also look out for a pop-up arcade on the concourse at select “Spirit of 76 Night” games this season, starting on Dec. 23. They will have the opportunity to dive into “Spectrum Sprint,” sign up for a Crypto.com account, and unlock exclusive experiences and prizes while attending a home game.

The 76ers and Crypto.com partnered with Impossible Brief as the artist/developer of “Spectrum Sprint.” The first mini-game, “Buckets on Broad,” launched on Nov. 17, and the final mini-game is set to launch in March.
