The next Pokémon GO Community Day will feature Sprigatito. This will provide Pokémon GO Trainers a chance to grab a Shiny Sprigatito for the first time ever, and get a Meowscarada with exclusive move, Frenzy Plant (tbc).
Sprigatito Community Day takes place Sunday, January 5 from 2 p.m until 5 p.m local time.
Sprigatito Community Day will be a very popular event amongst Pokémon GO Trainers. This is the first time we have ever had Shiny Sprigatito avaliable. We are also getting the best possible bonuses for this Community Day, with a huge 3x Stardust on offer. So, this is a great chance to meet up with your friends and play some Pokémon GO.
Sprigatito Pokémon GO Community Day bonuses
The following bonuses will be in effect for trainers during Sprigatito Community Day in Pokémon GO.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for 3 hours
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for 3 hours
- Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Sprigatito Community Day
- Take a few Snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional special trade (for a maximum of 3)*
- Trades cost 50% less Stardust*

Featured Pokémon: Sprigatito
During the event times, Sprigatito will be appearing much more frequently in the wild. You'll also have a increased chance of catching a Shiny Sprigatito.
There will also be a featured move for evolving Sprigatito. Any Floragato evolved into Meowscarada during Sprigatito Pokémon GO Community Day will learn Frenzy Plant, a Grass-type move. If you have any Meowscarada already, the only way they can learn this move is through an Elite TM.
Additionally, starting with the event and continuing afterwards, Meowscarada will be able to learn the Charged Attack Flower Trick.

What is Meowscarada's best Pokémon GO moveset?
Sprigatito Community Day will add an attack for Meowscarada, Frenzy Plant. This move will give Meowscarada some more bite in Raids, but won't make a difference to PvP. Additionally, Meowscarada will be able to learn Flower Trick after this event.

Sprigatito Community Day: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks
This Sprigatito Pokémon GO Community Day is primarily a great chance to get a Shiny of a new Pokémon.
You will want to have a single focus during this event. Catch, catch and catch. You can get a huge amount of Stardust from this event thanks to the 3x Stardust bonus, and of course the more Pokémon you encounter the more shiny Sprigatito you will encounter too.
However, one thing you can make sure is that you have a Pokémon at Mega Level 3 that will boost candy and XP from catching Sprigatito. Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get extra Candy, Candy XL and XP for catching Sprigatito:
- Venusaur
- Sceptile
- Groudon
- Abomasnow
Don't forget some other easy tips:
- Don't catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into Sprigatito.
- Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
- Don't activate Lures or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
