Aspiring Dragons Research Day will be a great time to hunt some new shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO.

The Aspiring Dragons Research Day is a great chance to grab yourself some new shinies in Pokémon GO. Non-Dragon type Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon are the feature of this Research Day, with four Pokémon in the spotlight.

Here is everything you need to know about the Aspiring Dragons Research Day in Pokémon GO.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Four Pokémon will be featured during this Research Day. They will be avaliable through Field Research tasks, and will all have increased shiny rates during the event. This is usually 1/10.

  • Horsea
  • Trapinch
  • Swablu
  • Skrelp

Aspiring Dragons Research Day Wild Encounters

Then, the following Pokémon will be spawning in the wild during the Research Day. These will not have boosted shiny rates.

  • Spearow
  • Yanma
  • Carvanha
  • Dwebble
  • Ducklett
  • Binacle

Paid Timed Research

There will be an event ticket, priced at $2 (or local equivalent) that will grant you a bunch of extra encounters avaliable during the Aspiring Dragons Research Day.

This Timed Research will challenge you to complete Field Research tasks to encounter more of your choice of the featured Pokémon! After completing your first Timed Research, you can select another of the featured Pokémon for a second Timed Research opportunity!

You can pick from any four of the featured Pokémon. This Timed Research will expire at the end of the event, so claim all rewards before 5pm on December 7.

With potentially 20 encounters with your favoured Pokémon, this ticket is well worth the $2 if you are going to be out completing the Aspiring Dragons Research Day.

You will need to do Field Research Tasks to unlock the encounters, so it can take a little bit of effort. You can save up some completed encounters beforehand to make this a little bit easier.
