Popplio will make its Shiny debut during this Community Day.
The next Pokémon GO Community Day will feature Popplio. This will provide Pokémon GO Trainers a chance to grab a Shiny Popplio and get a Primarina with exclusive move, Hydro Cannon.
Popplio Community Day takes place Saturday, August 31 from 1400-1700 local time.
Popplio was widely expected to get a Community Day in Pokémon GO sooner rather than later. We've already had Rowlett and Litten, so it makes sense to get the third starter from the Alola region. This is a hugely popular Pokémon, with a nice shiny form. So, more than ever this is a great chance to meet up with your friends and play some Pokémon GO.
Popplio Pokémon GO Community Day bonuses
The following bonuses will be in effect for trainers during Popplio Community Day in Pokémon GO.
- 3x XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for 3 hours
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for 3 hours
- Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Popplio Community Day
- Take a few Snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional special trade (for a maximum of 3)*
- Trades cost 50% less Stardust*

There will also be a $1 Research Ticket, Showcases and special item-bundles in the Pokémon GO Store.
Featured Pokémon: Popplio
During the event times, Popplio will be appearing much more frequently in the wild. You'll also have a increased chance of catching a Shiny Popplio.
There will also be a featured move for evolving Popplio. Any Brionne evolved into Primarina during Popplio Pokémon GO Community Day will learn Hydro Cannon, a Water-type move. If you have any Primarina already, the only way they can learn this move is through an Elite TM.

Popplio Community Day will add Hydro Cannon as a Charged Attack for Primarina. Additonally, starting from August 31 Primarina will be able to learn the Charged Attack Sparkling Aria. These two moves are very powerful, and Primarina is going to be a strong contender in some PvP Leagues.

This Popplio Pokémon GO Community Day is primarily a great chance to get a Shiny of a very popular Pokémon. Popplio has never been shiny in Pokémon GO before, so you could be amongst the first to get a Shundo of this Pokémon.
It has been a great time to grind XP in Pokémon GO over the last few weeks, and Popplio Community Day is no exception. With 3x XP (6x with a Lucky Egg) you can grind a huge amount of XP towards your next level in Pokémon GO during this Community Day.
We also have extra Candy and Candy XL for catching Pokémon during this event. But, you can boost that up even further by using a Water-type Mega Level 3 Mega Pokémon.
