Pokémon TCG has announced that its newest set, Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes, has been delayed.
For fans of Pokémon TCG, you may be disheartened to learn that the company has delayed the release of its newest set, Mega Evolution - Ascended Heroes. With the 30th anniversary of The Pokémon Company happening next month, many have been itching to get their hands on these new cards.

Pokémon TCG announce new release date for Mega Evolution - Ascended Heroes
Originally, the new Pokémon TCG set was going to release on January 30, 2026, which is just a few days away. However, the company announced via Twitter that the Mega Evolution - Ascended Heroes set will not release now until February 20, 2026.
”The US/CA release will be delayed from the originally scheduled launch date of January 30, 2026, to February 20, 2026,” said Pokémon TCG on Twitter. “We greatly appreciate the community's patience and ongoing support.”
The new release date is only seven days prior to Pokémon Day (February 27, 2026). Nintendo has already revealed that Pokémon Day will feature quite a few big announcements, with remakes and even Gen 10 being hinted.
Why are people so excited about the new set?
2026 being the 30th anniversary of Pokémon has created quite a bit of excitement around the TCG sets, as the company already has a huge lineup in new sets planned to release. However, Ascended Heroes has a bit more hype around it compared to others, considering some of the unique full-art Mega Evolution cards.
And yes, there will be a new Charizard card, which always raises the value of Pokémon TCG sets.
From Ethan’s Ho-oh EX to Mega Charizard Y EX, many of the cards in this set have already accumulated quite a bit of value amongst collectors, and many also will prove to be incredibly strong in different decks.
