Get ready to shiny hunt in the Magnetic Study event in Pokémon GO.
The Pokémon GO Magnetic Study event will feature boosted shiny rates for three Electric-type Pokémon. There will also be rotating daily bonuses, and a special Timed Research.
The Magnetic Study event runs from Tuesday, October 15, at 12:00 a.m. to Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time. Here's everything that the event has in store for you.
Pokémon GO Magnetic Study event bonuses
The following bonuses will be in effect during the Pokémon GO Magnetic Study event:
- Trainers will have an increased chance to encounter Shiny Magnemite, Shiny Plusle and Shiny Minun. We expect the odds for these encounters to be at least 1/64.
- Magnetic Lure Modules are more likely to attract event themed Pokémon.
In addition, we will also have rotating daily bonuses. These will be active the entire day, running from 12:00am to 11:59pm local time.
October 15:
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon
October 16:
- 50% more XP from Raid Battles
October 17:
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon
Some of these bonuses coincide nicely with some Pokémon event staples. We already have a killer Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour on October 15, with Shroomish and 2x Stardust. Now, we have 2x catch XP at the same time, making this one of the best Spotlight Hours for some time.
In addition we also have boosted Raid XP on October 16, when there is a regularly scheduled Raid Hour. That will make this a great chance to grind for those of you working towards Level 50.
