Pokémon GO increase spawn rates to help rural players

This increase to Pokémon GO spawn rates will be felt in remote areas.

Niantic have announces that they are increasing spawn rates in Pokémon GO across the world. This change, one of the biggest to spawns since the game released in 2016, is primarily to benefit rural and remote players.

Currently, there can be a lot of frustration for players who live remotely or in rural areas. Raids are harder to do, and harder to find. PokéStops are less plentiful, meaning less resources, and there are less Pokémon spawns.

Now, thanks to these changes, rural players should find it a bit easier to engage with the core concept of Pokémon GO - catching Pokémon.

Niantic boost Pokémon GO spawn rates

Pokémon spawn rates is something that Trainers will always want increased. After all, more Pokémon is more potential to find shinies, hundos, perfect PvP IVs and play the game more. Nothing is more boring than opening Pokémon GO and seeing an empty map.

For rural players currently, many find themselves either not engaging with a lot of the game or having to travel into cities and larger communities in order to play. While for big events that is worthwhile, and helps players engage with things like the Ambassador Programme it makes playing the game a much bigger undertaking.

With these changes, rural players should find more Pokémon spawning in their area.

Changes also apply to more densely populated areas

However, these changes with spawn rates in Pokémon GO isn't just about more remote areas. These changes are global, and Niantic say these changes will apply to more densely populated areas like towns and cities too. That means all Trainers will be able to benefit from more Pokémon to catch. That means more XP, more Stardust and more chance at a shiny! Keep your eyes peeled for more Pokémon in your area.
