Various trainers and their Pokémon will take the spotlight in Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals!

Pokémon TCG’s tenth main expansion for the Scarlet & Violet series, Destined Rivals, is about to launch on May 30, with pre-releases scheduled from May 17 to May 25.

It's possible that Destined Rivals will become the English counterpart of the Japanese sets Heat Wave Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket, scheduled for release on March 14 and April 18, respectively.

According to the official site of Japanese Pokémon TCG, the Heat Wave Arena will feature cards depicting various Pokémon owned by Hibiki (Ethan) and Kasumi (Misty), with Hibiki’s Ho-oh ex becoming the face of the set.

However, another source of Pokémon TCG leaks also revealed that apart from the two trainers, Cynthia’s Garchomp ex and Arven’s Mabosstiff will also join the block, giving this set a Trainer-centric theme.

As for The Glory of Team Rocket, cards from this set will likely mirror the cards from the classical sets of Team Rocket from April 2000 and ex Team Rocket Returns from 2004.

At the time of writing, no Team Rocket cards have been publicly shown yet, but what we know so far is that one of them is going to be Mewtwo ex, and all the Pokémon will bear the Rocket's name on them.

There’s a good chance that Destined Rivals will contain a massive library of cards, since apart from Heat Wave Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket, it may also include other Trainer-owned Pokémon cards like Steven’s Metagross ex and Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex.

These cards featuring Steven from Hoenn and Marnie from Galar are already available in Japan as Starter Set ex decks.

More information will be unveiled about Pokémon TCG Scarlet and Violet: Destined Rivals at a later date, as the company behind the popular card game continues to focus on the Journey Together set, coming on March 28.
