A new Pokémon DLC for the new Legends game was announced alongside a brand new Pokémon game, Pokémon Pokopia, that resembles the world of Minecraft.
The Nintendo Direct that aired today (September 12, 2025) had some big news for Pokémon fans, which included a new look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a paid DLC that will be available for the game and even a brand new Pokémon game.
Here is everything we know.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A to get a paid DLC at launch
For those excited for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you will be happy to learn that the game will be getting a paid DLC at launch, which will give players two new Mega Evolutions. The DLC, titled "Mega Dimension," will focus on the two new Mega Evolutions, Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.

While no price for the DLC, Mega Dimension, has been announced, we do know that it will be released alongside the game on Octoebr 16, 2025, making it a big addition to the new title.
However, this is controversial to some, as Nintendo seems to put a lot of content behind random paywalls. Either way, many Pokémon fans will still purchase the DLC and any additional content released for the game in the future.
New game, Pokémon Pokopia, announced for Nintendo Switch 2
With the Nintendo Switch 2 still very early on in its life cycle, we have not seen a lot of games released for it. While Pokémon Legends: Z-A is going to be the first Pokémon title released on the console, we did get word of a new Pokémon title also set to release for the Switch 2.

Pokémon Pokopia is a new cozy-style Pokémon game that lets players play as Ditto transformed into a human, who must build a new home upon an empty land. This game is very much a mix of Animal Crossing and Minecraft, but with Pokémon themes
Pokémon Pokopia has no official release date, but is said to be releasing sometime in 2026. While this is exciting to many, most people were looking for a Pokémon remake of a past game instead.
