Mega Mawile arrives in Pokémon GO Raid Day

A long awaited Pokémon GO debut for Mega Mawile.

Mega Mawile is finally making its Pokémon GO debut in a Mega Raid Day on Saturday, October 12. This Steel and Fairy-type Mega Pokémon will be a really useful Mega Level 3 option, providing some excellent coverage for those all important Candy and Candy XL bonuses.

Mega Mawile Raid Day details

We now have full confirmation of event details. The Mega Raid day runs from 2pm until 5pm local time. Raids will refresh every 30 mins, on every Gym in the game.

Event Bonuses

Here are the bonuses you can expect from the Raid Day.

  • Mega Mawile will appear more frequently in raids
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Mawile
  • The Remote Raid limit will be increased to 20 from Friday, October 11, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. PDT

It was possible that Mega Mawile got special featured attack to celebrate its debut. Sadly, Niantic have confirmed that this will not be the case. However, no matter what, this is still a useful Mega Pokémon to have. Additionally, it could still get a special move in the future.

Mega Mawile Raid Day event ticket

As often is the case for a Pokémon GO Raid Day, there is a Mega Mawile Raid Day ticket to grant extra passes and bonuses. The ticket will cost $5. Here are the bonuses you can expect.

  • 8 Additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased Rare Candy XL chances
  • 50% more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2x Stardust from Raid Battles
