The Mega Gyarados Raid Day will begin on August 31, from 2 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. of local time.
Event Bonuses
Remember these event bonuses during the event, as they can help you plan the resources you’ll spend and maximize the rewards you’ll get:
- The limit for Remote Raid Passes will increase to 20. This event bonus will remain active from August 30, 5 p.m. to August 31, 8 p.m. PDT.
- Five free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, which allows you to get a total of six free Raid Passes.
- Higher chances for encountering a Shiny Gyarados after beating a raid.

Mega Gyarados Raid Day Pokémon GO Event Ticket
Players who are willing to spend some bucks can purchase an Event Ticket for the Mega Gyarados Raid Day and enjoy the following perks:
- Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs. If you add this amount to the free Raid Passes, you’ll get a total of 14 passes to clear those Mega Gyarados raids.
- If your Trainer Level is at least 31, you’ll have higher chances of obtaining Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles.
- 15% more XP from Raid Battles. Since this event coincides with the Sunkissed Shores Event, you’ll instead get a total of 3x XP through raids.
- 2x Stardust from Raid Battles.
This Event Ticket will cost $5 (or its equivalent in your local currency) at the Pokémon GO in-game or Web Store. All of its bonuses will remain active throughout the duration of the event.
