Get ready for a Mega Absol Raid Day in Pokémon GO.

Mega Absol is returning to Pokémon GO in a special Raid Day. There are a number of exciting bonuses, as well as a brand new move for Mega Absol.

While this might not jump out as a super exciting event, with Mega Absol having already been in the game, this is an excellent chance to grab a great shiny, rake in lots of XP and Stardust while having a great time playing Pokémon GO.

Here are all the event details and bonuses you need to know for this Raid Day.

Mega Absol Raid Day in Pokémon GO

Mega Absol Raid Day takes place on Sunday, Mar. 23 from 2:00 p.m until 5:00 p.m. local time.

Event bonuses

  • Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Saturday, March 22, at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a total of six).
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Absol from Mega Raids.

There will also be a ticket, priced at $5, that will award additional bonuses for Trainers who purchase it. The additional bonuses are:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of 14)
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • 50% more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles

Additionally, there will be a free Timed Research avaliable to all Trainers during the event. It will award the following:

  • 10,000 Stardust
  • 1,000 additional Stardust for completing a Raid Battle (which stacks with the event ticket, for a maximum of 3,000 per Raid.)

Mega Absol learns new move, Brutal Swing

Starting with this Raid Day, but also continuing afterwards, Absol will be able to learn the Charged Attack Brutal Swing. This is a pretty powerful Dark-type attack and it should make Mega Absol a bit stronger as a Dark-type Raid Attacker.

This move will be avaliable for all Absol, and will only require a standard Charged TM, not an Elite TM.
