A major Google Cloud outage has seen Pokémon GO trainers report issues signing in. Some can access the game in a limited way, and for others Pokémon GO is down all together. The problems are not limited to just Pokémon GO, with almost all Google services impacted.
Those who can access the game are primarily experiencing issues with the Friends List in game. Users who sign in via Google or Facebook are having the most issues accessing the app at all.
Pokémon GO down due to Google outage
Amazingly, this Google Cloud outage is incredibly wide spread. It impacts all regions to some extent. This is one of the most serious outages we have seen in some time and the problems go way beyond Pokémon GO.
Niantic have issued a brief statement about the incident:
Players, we are aware of a Google Cloud Platform outage that may cause slow load times or login issues for Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, Monster Hunter NOW, and associated Web Stores.
Major sites like Snapchat, Spotify, Discord and more are all also reporting an impact from the outage.
