One of the most important items in early Pokémon games is the bicycle, as it allows players to travel quickly across the map. Nowadays, bicycles seem almost useless with so many other ways of travel that have been added to the game. With Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen now on the Switch, many are wondering just how to get a bicycle.

You run into the bicycle shop early on in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, as it is located in Cerulean City, which is where the second gym is located. However, upon asking the shop owner for a bike, he will tell you that it costs $1 million Pokédollars.

So, how do you save up that much money in the game? Well, you cannot. Your wallet caps at $999,999 Pokédollars, making it impossible to purchase a bike in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. However, that does not mean you can get a bicycle in the game. All you need is a Bike Voucher, which when given to the shop owner, you will receive a bicycle in return.

To get a bicycle in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, you will first need to get ahold of a Bike Voucher, which then can be exchanged for a bicycle. Where do you get a Bike Voucher, though?

Well, it is easy. The next town you venture to after Cerulean City is Vermillion City, where you will find the Pokémon Fan Club, a house on the West side of the town. In there, you will meet the Chairman, who will tell you a story. Once you have finished listening to his story, he will then give you the Bike Voucher.

Simply head back to Cerulean City to exchange the voucher for a bicycle. Happy cruising!
