A quadruple debut? Yes please!

Novembers Pokémon GO Wild Area events will see the debut of Gigantamax Toxtricity worldwide. This will include both the in-person and Global event and will be avaliable to Trainers regardless of if they have the paid Ticket or not.

As far as we know, this will be the fourth Gigantamax Pokémon in the game after Venusaur, Bulbasaur and Blastoise. Toxtricity can be shiny across all forms during GO Wild Area, including after these Gigantamax Max Battles.

Here's what we know about Gigantamax Toxtricity and its upcoming debut during Wild Area in November.

Gigantamax Toxtricity to debut in Pokémon GO

Either during 8am - 5pm JST on November 16 and 17 in Fukuoka, Japan or globally between 10am and 6:15pm on November 23 and 24 Trainers can encounter Gigantamax Toxtricity in six-star Max Battles.

These Max Battles will cost 600 Max Particles, just like taking on Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise. With a limit of 800 Max Particles that you can collect per day that would limit Trainers to one or two battles with Gigantamax Toxtricity per day without spending money on Pokémon GO Max Particle Packs.

However, so Trainers can complete some more Max Battles the Max Particle collection limits will be raised during the Pokémon GO Wild Area.

The following limits were in effect:

  • 8000 particles per day for Trainers attending GO Wild Area: Fukuoka
  • 3200 particles per day for Trainers playing GO Wild Area: Global with the event ticket
  • 1600 particles per day for Trainers worldwide without the ticket

This will allow you to have a better chance to get a good IV or even a shiny Gigantamax Toxtricity.

How many Trainers will you need to take on Gigantamax Toxtricity?

In their announcement, Niantic report that groups of 10–20 Trainers should be able to defeat and catch Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokémon GO.

This will make them difficult to take down if you are a remote/rural player so you will need to join a local campfire group or head into a populated area if you're looking to take on a few of these Max Battles during the GO Wild Area event.

Will Gigantamax Toxtricity be good in Pokémon GO?

At the moment, we don't really have a handle on how good Gigantamax Pokémon will be in Pokémon GO, including Toxtricity. However, given how powerful these Pokémon are and how many Trainers it will take to take them down, they should be pretty useful in future Max Battles.
