Get ready to take on Dynamax Raikou in Pokémon GO.
Dynamax Raikou is the latest Legendary Pokémon to come to Pokémon GO. It will be featured across a special Max Battle weekend, giving Trainers two days to take on these Max Battles.
There will also be a range of bonuses designed to help you take on more Max Battles across the weekend. So, here is everything you need to know about this Max Battle weekend.
Dynamax Raikou Max Battle weekend
Dynamax Raikou will be in five-star Max Battles across the weekend of Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16. You can take on these Max Battles during the usual Max Battle times of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Look out for local Community Ambassador meet-ups during those dates to help you find enough people to take on these Max Battles.
Event Bonuses
There will be the following bonuses across the weekend.
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
- 1/4 adventuring distance to receive Max Particles*
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently
- 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
In addition, the following bonus will be active from Monday, March 10, at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. local time.
- 3/4 Max Particle cost for unlocking and powering up Max Moves
This additional bonus will allow you to prepare your teams to take on Dynamax Raikou in Pokémon GO, as well as allow you to power up any good Dynamax Raikou you might get.

To also help you prepare, there will be a free Timed Research opportunity available to Trainers starting Monday, March 10, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. local time.
This will award you Pokémon that will be a good counter against Dynamax Raikou. You will get a Dynamax Drilbur, which when evolved will be an excellent counter. You will also get Drilbur Candy, Max Particles, and more to help power up your battle team.
