The Fire Mouse Pokémon is back for a Community Day Classic.

The next Pokémon GO Community Day Classic will feature Cyndaquil. This will provide Pokémon GO Trainers a second chance to grab a Shiny Cyndaquil, and get a Typhlosion with exclusive move, Blast Burn.

Cyndaquil Community Day Classic takes place Saturday, June 22 from 1400-1700 local time.

Choosing Cyndaquil for the next Pokémon GO Community Day Classic came a bit out of left field (we know you all want Beldum and Niantic must do too!). However, there is some logic here. Typhlosion is getting a new move this season, which might increase its utility and relevance in PvP.

Releasing Cyndaquil via another Community Day means all trainers can grab a Typhlosion or two, with the strong move Blast Burn, and then add Thunder Punch as a second move if they wish to use it in PvP.

We're getting some decent bonuses too. So, this is a great chance to meet up with your friends and play some Pokémon GO.

Cyndaquil Pokémon GO Community Day Classic bonuses

The following bonuses will be in effect for trainers during Cyndaquil Community Day Classic in Pokémon GO.

  • 2x XP for catching Pokémon

  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for 3 hours
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for 3 hours
  • Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Cyndaquil Community Day Classic

During the event times, Cyndaquil will be appearing much more frequently in the wild. You'll also have a increased chance of catching a Shiny Cyndaquil.

There will also be a featured move for evolving Cyndaquil. Any Quilava evolved into Typhlosion during Cyndaquil Pokémon GO Community Day Classic will learn Blast Burn, a Fire-type move. If you have any Typhlosion already without this move, the only way they can learn this move is through an Elite TM.

Shiny Cyndaquil, Shiny Quilava and Shiny Typhlosion

Here is the regular and shiny versions of the family of Pokémon featured this Community Day.

The odds of encountering a shiny Cyndaquil is about 1 in 25 during this Cyndaquil Pokémon GO Community Day Classic.

Typhlosion Best Pokémon GO Moveset

Cyndaquil Community Day Classic will allow Trainers a second chance to get Blast Burn as a Charged Attack for Typhlosion. Bast Burn is one of the most powerful Fire-type moves in Pokémon GO and is a great move to have on Typhlosion.

However, Blast Burn isn't the only move to consider this season. Typhlosion is also getting access to Thunder Punch (with no Elite TM required). This move is a great addition to Typhlosion's repertoire in PvP and goes nicely alongside Blast Burn.

The best moveset for Typhlosion is:

  • Incinerate
  • Thunder Punch
  • Blast Burn

Cyndaquil Community Day Classic: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks

Cyndaquil Pokémon GO Community Day has some decent bonuses, and Cyndaquil is a much adored Pokémon. Getting 2x XP and 2x Stardust at the same time means Trainers can tackle two birds with one stone.

You can gather lots of much desired Stardust while also working towards your next Level Up too. If you're already at Level 50, keep farming that XP. If Niantic (more likely when, not if!) raise the Level Cap to 60, you'll have a big head start.

However, we don't have any Candy bonuses for catching Pokémon during this event. Don't fret, you can still get extra Candy, Candy XL and XP by using a Fire-type Mega Level 3 Mega Pokémon.

Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get extra Candy, Candy XL and XP for catching Cyndaquil:

  • Groudon
  • Houndoom
  • Blaziken
  • Charizard

Don't forget some other easy tips:

  • Don't catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into Cyndaquil.
  • Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
  • Don't activate Lures' or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
  • Have fun!
