Pokémon just announced its newest Mega Evolution: Mega Victreebel. Will you be buying Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
Pokémon is always keeping fans on their toes, as the game is constantly announcing new Mega Evolutions. Since X and Y, Mega Evolutions have been a favorite amongst Pokémon fans. And now, with our first time revisiting the Kalos region, fans will get a brand new Mega Evolution: Mega Victreebel.
Mega Victreebel to make its debut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
The popular plant Pokémon, Victreebel, is finally getting the Mega Evolution it deserves. Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which takes place in the Kalos region (where Mega Evolutions were first introduced), just announced that the new Mega Evolution will be coming to the game.
Remember that bizarre teaser they released the other day? Well, this is what it was hinting at.
Pokémon released a small trailer on Twitter today (August 21, 2025) that showcased Mega Victreebel. Its acidic power looks immense, meaning this will be one of the better Mega Evolutions in the game.
The Pokémon's bulb seems to be more emphasized around the bottom side when in its Mega form, which allows it to hop around like it is on one of those Hopping Balls we used to bounce around with as kids.

The long-awaited Legends game is finally releasing this Fall on October 16, 2025. The game will be available on both the Switch 2 and regular Nintendo Switch, but will obviously run much more smoothly on the original console's predecessor.
The game's release should begin to mark the end of regular Nintendo Switch games, as Nintendo will more than likely begin releasing games exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 pretty soon (aside from Donkey Kong and the new Mario Kart).
