Path of Exile 2 patch 0.1.1 brings an unending list of changes to the endgame.
Path of Exile 2 developers Grinding Gear Games are keeping their feet on the pedal, rolling out a monstrously huge 0.1.1 patch. The update will be going live on Friday, Jan. 17. There may be downtime as the update rolls out.
In focus for the 0.1.1 early access patch is an expansion to the title's endgame offerings. Specifically, devs are adding four new Tower Map areas and bumping up spawns across the bulk of the game's Maps. From more monsters to (vastly) more loot, PoE 2 players can expect a more rewarding experience from running maps at higher levels.
Path of Exile 2 patch 0.1.1 is packed full of endgame updates and item balancing changes
Devs have also added more respawn attempts for the Arbiter of Ash boss and have hit him with the nerfhammer a touch to bring him back into line. You'll still need to commit to the entire run in one go, but with extra respawns this already punishing boss will be a little easier to tackle.
Armour, once an important stat back in the game's prequel, has been weak since the launch of PoE 2 in early access. Today's buff will see the effectiveness of Armour increased by 15%.
PoE 2 has taken the world by storm with over a million players diving into the game already. Nearly 200,000 players are currently in-game prior to the launch of update 0.1.1, all eagerly awaiting the new content — especially those who have been stuck at endgame.
We've barely scratched the surface here. If you're chasing up the full patch notes including an expanded list of mapping changes, specific monster skill buffs and nerfs, and all unique item changes (there's over 100!), head to Grinding Gear Games' official 0.1.1 patch notes page here.
The Path of Exile 2 patch 0.1.1 goes live sometime on Jan. 17. We've broken down some of the most important patch notes below.
All major Path of Exile 2 patch 0.1.1 notes
Endgame
- Added four new Tower Map areas: Alpine Ridge, Bluff, Mesa, and Sinking Spire.
- Respawn attempts for Arbiter of Ash increased to six.
- Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the keys, and everyone in your party will be respawned at the same time. Leaving the Map still forfeits your attempt so you'll still need to fight the boss with the build you walked into the Map with. Higher difficulties of the Boss will lower the number of respawn attempts you receive.
- Map areas now contain a minimum of three Rare Monsters.
- Added the new Overseer's Precursor Tablet, a currency item which can be placed in completed Towers to add Map Bosses to valid Maps in radius. These tablets drop from Map Bosses, and can roll exclusive modifiers that affect Map Bosses.
- Map areas have been adjusted to have more distinct specialities for the content they contain.
- A number of Maps now have increased spawns for chests, total monsters, Essences, Strongboxes, and Shrines.
- Untainted Paradise now contains 100% more Monsters, of which spawn 100% more (thus quadruple) Magic and Rare Monsters.
- Adjusted the chance for Maps to contain Bosses
- You should be encountering a Boss roughly every one in four Maps.
