Blizzard Entertainment just revealed what the rest of 2026 looks like for Overwatch players. The Overwatch Spotlight roadmap shows that this year is all about the Reign of Talon!
Overwatch Spotlight roadmap 2026
According to the new Overwatch Spotlight roadmap, the game's Reign of Talon era goes on for four seasons in 2026. Season 1 kicks everything off with five new heroes, the Conquest event that puts Overwatch against Talon, the new hero sub-passives feature, new mythics, a competitive rank reset, Vendetta in Stadium, Stadium's hero builder feature, plus the Overwatch x Hello Kitty collaboration.

Next, Season 2 arrives with a brand-new hero and celebrates Overwatch's 10-year anniversary. Players can also look forward to post-match accolades, Ramattra in Stadium, the Overwatch Champion Series (OWCS) Clash, and more mythics.
Overwatch Season 3, meanwhile, features the new Japan Night map, OWCS at the Esports World Cup (EWC), new mythics, plus another new hero.
Finally, Season 4 closes out the year with yet another new hero, BlizzCon 2026, plus the Overwatch World Cup (OWC).

All Overwatch Spotlight announcements
Overwatch Season 1 arrives on Feb. 10 with five new heroes, however, according to Blizzard Entertainment, these only make up half of the 10 hero releases. Players can look forward to five more of them across Seasons 2 and 6. Interestingly, it appears that one of the future Overwatch heroes is an omnic.
In terms of other Overwatch Spotlight announcements, the team behind the game revealed that Talon's story unfolds in Season 1 through in-game events, hero trailers, animated comics, short stories, and map updates galore. There's also a user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) overhaul plus the removal of the "2" in the game's title.
