Overwatch Rush begins first regional test: Heroes, skins, and gameplay

Overwatch Rush, Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch game for mobile, has started its first regional test. Read on for a first look at the different heroes and skins plus some early gameplay footage.

Interested players in the Philippines can now duke it out in Overwatch Rush. This is the first regional testing phase for the game, and only Android users can download Overwatch Rush via the Google Play Store and test it out.

According to Blizzard Entertainment, this playtest involves collecting crucial data, feedback, and insights from players to improve the game.

Although folks outside of the Philippines cannot participate in this particular playtest, Blizzard Entertainment did reveal that the Overwatch Rush team is working hard to expand testing to more regions.

"We know many of you around the world are eager to jump in, and we’re just as excited to get the game into your hands," an announcement from the official Overwatch Rush Discord server stated. "We’re working hard to bring Overwatch Rush testing to more regions, and we’ll keep you updated every step of the way!"

For those eager to see what the game is about, they can check out the Overwatch Rush trailer. The video features Reinhardt, Tracer, Soldier: 76, Mercy on one team. The other team has the Reinhardt mirror plus Reaper, Pharah, and Lucio.

Both teams appear to be duking it out on the mobile version of the Busan control map, and it looks like Reinhardt has the Magma Strike power from the Overwatch Stadium game mode.

OWCavalry and Ceptolotl shared some footage of the Overwatch Rush tutorial as well.

One of Blizzard Entertainment's screenshots of the Overwatch Rush features a loadout for Tracer. It indicates that the mobile game has skins that players can unlock. Some of the skins are awarded by achieving certain ranks.

According to OWCavalry and Ceptolotl on X, the game has legendary skins for Kiriko, Mercy, Tracer, Pharah, Soldier: 76, and Reinhardt, too.

In terms of the Overwatch Rush roster, OWCavalry and s3cr11t shared that it includes Reinhardt, Doomfist, Soldier 76, Pharah, Reaper, Tracer, Genji, Hanzo, Kiriko, Lucio, Mercy, and Brigitte. It's interesting to note that Doomfist has a beard, which differs from his default look in Overwatch.
