When asked about the Houston Outlaws' fight against Dallas Fuel in the "Battle for Texas," Shu expressed confidence in winning against the opposing team.

"So I never really thought Dallas was good in the first place. So I didn't really have like too much meaning into the matchup, but it is what it is," Shu said.

Houston Outlaws took Lijiang Tower, King's Row, and Suravasa. While Shin "BERNAR" Se-won stunned opponents as Sigma, Shu and Park "Viol2t" Min-ki as different support heroes provided heals, lamps, and knockbacks. Meanwhile, Pelican and Lee "Happy" Jeongwoo pressed the attack with DPS heroes such as Genji, Sojourn, Bastion, and Echo.

Pelican and Shu talk strategy and gameplay

During the match, the audience also saw Pelican duplicate into the enemy Junker Queen as Echo. Pelican explained his reasoning for this particular strategy.

"Out of all the characters she can copy, it really feels like Junker Queen is the best copy because she's able to — she at least has the most amount of HP and she can still create a lot of space for us, for my team. So I think it's a pretty good copy," Pelican said.

As for Shu, he talked about his abilities as a support player compared to others. "So pretty much, I'm the support that was expected," he said. "You know, when I [go] to a match, it's not that I don't — it's not that I'm disrespecting my opponents, but when I go into a match, I play as if the opponent's supports are always going to be beneath me. So it's just how it is."

Shu also noted how learning the meta was a big headache. Therefore, it was difficult throughout the training phase. However, he said he's happy with how everything is now.

In terms of the Houston Outlaws match against Hangzhou Spark in the Overwatch League 2023 Grand Finals, he once again expressed confidence going in despite the Hangzhou Spark's double reverse sweep on Days 1 and 2.
