Overwatch gets NetEase Yanxuan collaboration

Overwatch players in China may be getting exclusive in-game items featuring Mercy and Jetpack Cat. Here’s what we know about the Overwatch x NetEase Yanxuan collaboration so far.

In a post on X, OWCavalry revealed that there’s a new collaboration between Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase. It may be a region-locked Overwatch collaboration celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the hero shooter and the NetEase Yanxuan brand.

“The collaboration is likely exclusive to China,” OWCavalry stated.

According to OWCavalry, Overwatch x NetEase Yanxuan features an adorable name card of Mercy holding Jetpack Cat. It also includes additional themed items such as a weapon charm shaped like a dim sum container with cat ears.

Esports.gg accessed the region-locked Weibo post as well. According to our translation of it, the collaboration is indeed centered around the 10-year anniversaries of both Overwatch and NetEase Yanxuan. There are also in-game gifts to celebrate the occasion. Our translation also indicates that the collaboration’s release date is April 15.

At the time of publishing this article, it is unconfirmed if the Jetpack Cat items will be exclusive to China. However, OWCavalry, a trusted account within the Overwatch community, noted that players outside of China may be able to get the name card another way.

Overwatch and China’s exclusives

In the past, players in China experienced exclusive Overwatch content in the form of Talon and Loverwatch events. Recently, players there were also able to get Naraka Bladepoint skins, player icons, weapon charms, name cards, sprays, and more. The Overwatch x Naraka Bladepoint crossover featured Wuchen Wuyang, Viper Ning Widowmaker, Yueshan Reaper, Shayol Wei Freja, Feria Shen D.Va, and Scarlet Bride Widowmaker.
