Cassidy doesn’t have a hat and it’s freaking me out.

At last we saw an Overwatch anime collab, the team at Blizzard had an ethos about how to handle the skin designs. At the time, the idea was that the characters in the One Punch Man crossover weren't the characters themselves, but cosplaying or inspired by it. Well, it appears that has gone out the window. We have our first official look today in an Overwatch Cowboy Bebop gameplay trailer as to how the skins will look.

And, really: No notes! Looks great. However, the designs certainly seem to say Cowboy Bebop far more than Overwatch. A day before the release of new content and the midseason patch, the Overwatch Cowboy Bebop gameplay trailer gives our first hi-fi look at the new premium skins. Oh, and of course: Junkrat is here. Why wouldn't he be?

We've got galleries of images from Blizzard below.

It's a little shocking to see Cassidy without his hat. But, I guess in the great design of things, what is hair but a kind of hat? The Overwatch Cowboy Bebop skins certainly learn more into direct translation than fun homage this time around. But, as I said, there's nothing wrong with that. Give the people what they want, I say. And, in the case of the Cowboy Bebop gameplay trailer for Overwatch, it certainly seems to be just that.

The skins actually create a bit of an uncanny valley feeling to me. Like looking at a deepfake of a celebrity, you can still see the original character in there. Like, that is most definitely Ashe's face. Honestly, it's kind of freaking me out.

Regardless, I'll be buying all of them and I doubt I'm alone in that. Keep your eyes and wallets open on March 12 as the Overwatch Cowboy bebop collab and skins hit servers. See you, Space Cowboy.
