Overwatch's gender-inclusive esports circuit now has a streamlined schedule, format, and a clear path to ultimate victory. Here's the rundown.

Overwatch’s gender-inclusive Calling All Heroes circuit has returned for 2026 after restructuring its format, schedule, and so much more. There are now lower barriers to entry and more flexibility to compete in other esports events like the Overwatch World Cup (OWWC) and the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS).

Major Overwatch Calling All Heroes 2026 updates

The updated Overwatch Calling All Heroes circuit now has more weekend match days and a shorter season overall. This makes it easier for players who cannot commit to year-long weekday schedules. The circuit’s simplified structure also gives players a clearer path from registration to the 2026 Calling All Heroes Championship.

How Overwatch Calling All Heroes works in 2026

  • Regular Season: Up to 64 Overwatch esports teams compete in a 6-round Swiss system over 3 weeks. The Top 8 teams then advance to the Season Playoffs.
  • Season Playoffs: The Top 8 teams are seeded into a single-elimination bracket based on their Regular Season performance. Each team plays a single round, and the remaining teams move into a double-elimination stage to determine final results. The top four teams earn the highest Championship seeds.
  • Championship: The final 8 teams compete in a double-elimination bracket over two weekends to crown the 2026 champion.
  • Prizing: The total prize pool is 40,000 USD.

In terms of the scheduling details, teams can now reschedule Regular Season matches if weekend match days don’t work for them. Meanwhile, eligibility verification is now through an organization called Raidiant, and returning players don’t need to reverify if their details haven’t changed. More prize money is distributed to lower-placing teams to support emerging talent and encourage team development, too.

Players and supporters can also look forward to new and returning in-game rewards. Blizzard Entertainment hinted at Overwatch esports loot boxes.
