Iconic heroes meet iconic fighters. Here’s everything to know about the new Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 collaboration!

Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced the Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 collaboration, which goes live on May 20, 2025. Today's reveal coincides with the kickoff of Evo Japan 2025, giving fans of both fighting games and hero shooters something to celebrate. Unlike Overwatch 2's previous crossovers, this one is the first one to be a video game franchise outside of Blizzard's own lineup, too. Here are the Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 details.

Overwatch x Street Fighter collab revealed!

Blizzard released a new video featuring all of these skins as well. In it, we can see a truck pull up to an arcade. Then, we zoom into one of the arcade machines and see the character selection screen before Juno as Chun-Li and Widowmaker as Cammy begin duking it out against each other.

Hanzo as Ryu then makes his entrance before they all take the battle to the rooftops. Since Juno can fly, Hanzo can wall-climb, and Widowmaker can reach the high ground with her Grappling Hook, they all show off their Overwatch 2 kit in the next scene. It ends in Ryu Hanzo's defeat.

When a new challenge approaches, it's none other than Kiriko as Juri! There's also Soldier: 76 as Guile followed by Winston as Blanka, Zenyatta as Dhalsim, and Sigma as M. Bison. At the very end of the Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 collaboration trailer, we also see Hanzo using Ryu's moves in an attempt to shoot some hoops.

When does Overwatch x Street Fighter release?

This Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 crossover officially arrives on May 20, 2025. Not much has been revealed about it yet apart from the new skins, but if it's anything like previous collaborations, players can expect themed challenges, new cosmetic items to go along with the skins, and perhaps even a limited-time arcade game mode.

Why this Overwatch x Street Fighter collaboration matters

This crossover is more than just fan service. It shows Blizzard's growing interest in engaging competitive gaming audiences from different franchises. Launching the Street Fighter 6 collaboration alongside the start of Evo Japan 2025, where top players duke it out in one of the biggest fighting game community (FGC) events of the year, therefore, makes sense.

And, as noted, this announcement marks a first for Overwatch 2. That is, Blizzard is partnering with another video game franchise instead of anime, films, or Blizzard-owned IPs. With this door opened, what will Overwatch 2 collaborate with next? Only time will tell.

That's all for now. Are you excited about this new collaboration? Stick around on esports.gg for more news and updates about Overwatch 2 and the FGC!
