Overwatch 2 ranked mode update
Overwatch 2 is suffering from confusion among players, according to game director Aaron Keller. This is because players aren't sure about their real rank and how that gets translated to their skill level. Keller added that the game's developers will implement some changes to Overwatch 2 Season 3 to address this. There will also be some more changes in Season 4 to further clarify the ranked system.
Overwatch 2 update: rewards and ultimates
As for the Overwatch 2 reward system, Keller acknowledged that players aren't big fans of it. Thankfully, Overwatch 2 Season 3 will look into this. More details will be shared next week.
"We’ve gotten feedback from players that the game doesn’t feel rewarding enough to play and that players can’t earn the items they want in a short enough period of time," Keller said.
In terms of Overwatch 2 ultimates, Season 3 will entail changes to ultimate costs alongside ultimate refunds when players switch characters.
"We’ll be lowering the ult refund when swapping heroes to 25% as part of this tuning pass," Keller stated in an announcement.

As for frustrating hero mechanics, those are still an ongoing discussion. Keller noted that there are nuances such as trade-offs, power levels, hero popularity, and more.
"Know that we’re listening here, the feedback has been great and very welcome, and we’ll come back to this when we have more to share," he said.
