Frostmourne hungers for a World of Warcraft crossover.

The Overwatch 2 Season 12 launch trailer is out! It revealed a slew of upcoming content, including the arrival of Clash maps Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis, Reaper's new mythic skin, a rank reset, Hero Mastery missions for Zarya and Pharah, and even a possible Overwatch 2 World of Warcraft collaboration.

Blizzard teased a possible Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft collaboration at the end of the Season 12 launch trailer. After showing off artwork of Juno plus the new skins for Reaper, Genji, Kiriko, and Echo, the scene changed to the Antarctic Peninsula map. Then, a shadow put down Frostmourne from the World of Warcraft universe!

In World of Warcraft, Frostmourne is the Lich King's weapon, bearing specific runes. The Overwatch 2 version of Frostmourne features these exact same runes. One of the most iconic wielders of Frostmourne was Arthas Menethil, who became the Lich King and a Death Knight.

Overwatch 2 Arthas

Is Arthas coming to Overwatch 2? It's possible that a hero would get an Arthas skin. The teaser could also be hinting at a weapon skin. In the past, the Overwatch franchise featured World of Warcraft skins such as Illidan Genji and Tyrande Symmetra.
