A new balance patch for 6v6 in Overwatch 2 will arrive next week.
Blizzard Entertainment just announced the first balance patch designed specifically for Overwatch 2’s six-versus-six (6v6) game modes.

Overwatch 2 6v6 patch notes
On Nov. 7, Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch 2 team made an official post about 6v6 game modes. The team announced that a new balance patch for 6v6 will arrive next week. Based on our experience with Overwatch 2 updates, these 6v6 patch notes will likely go live on a Tuesday, meaning they could drop on Nov. 11.
The Overwatch 2 team also revealed that while five-versus-five (5v5) remains the most popular format, 6v6 still has a loyal and active player base.
"On any given day, roughly 20% of online players run through at least one game of 6v6," the post added. "Feedback about how much you’ve enjoyed this mode let us know that it needed some attention, so keep it coming!"
The post then shared that player feedback helps the team refine and improve those game modes.
Overwatch 2 Season 20 teasers
In terms of other Overwatch 2 updates to look forward to, the post teased that Season 20 will introduce a new feature for the highest-skilled players. Overwatch 2 Season 20 will also get a new Stadium map related to recent content about the game's lore.
"We can’t spoil all the surprises for Season 20, but we’ll be introducing a new feature for the highest-skilled players on the leaderboard directly inspired by our conversations with them," the post stated. "Another Stadium map will also be headed your way in Season 20, set in a locale we haven’t used for other maps. But it should look very familiar if you’ve been keeping up with recent lore drops."
