Blizzard just revealed the Overwatch 2 Season 8 Call of the Hunt trailer, granting players an exciting preview of what to expect starting Dec. 5! Read on for details.

Season 8 of Overwatch 2 is Call of the Hunt! It features Mauga as a new tank hero, the mythic Grand Beast Orisa skin, Battle of the Beasts event mode, Overwatch 2 Beast Hunter skins, weapon skins, new Hero Mastery courses, and the return of the Winter Wonderland event. The new season also has holiday skins, a new event pass, free legendary skin, the Year of the Dragon event, and new Prop Hunt map.

The Beast Hunter skins go to Mauga, Ana, Junker Queen, Wrecking Ball, Junkrat, Zenyatta, Widowmaker, and Moira. Meanwhile, Reinhardt, Reaper, and Mercy get Hard Light weapon skins. As for the Hero Mastery courses, they feature Genji, Mei, Lucio, D.Va, and Echo.

Mauga enters Overwatch 2 Call of the Hunt trailer

Mauga makes his way into Overwatch 2 on Dec. 5. Prior to this, he was featured during BlizzCon 2023. The new tank hero's abilities are Overrun and Cardiac Overdrive. Meanwhile, his passive is Berserker and his ultimate is Cage Fight!

Overwatch 2 event pass, holiday skins, and more

As mentioned, Overwatch 2 Season 8 features the Winter Wonderland event alongside brand-new holiday skins. You can complete challenges to unlock a free legendary skin of your choosing as well. The options include the Winter Jammies Illari skin plus Formalwear skins for Cassidy and Baptiste. The Winter Wonderland event kicks off on Dec. 19.

Moreover, Year of the Dragon launches on Jan. 30 alongside an all-new Prop Hunt game mode that takes place on the Lijiang Night Market map.

When does the new Overwatch season start?

Season 8 of Overwatch 2 kicks off on Dec. 5. Like previous seasons, it features a brand-new Battle Pass and a bunch of in-game events.
