Overwatch 2 Competitive Drive hero bans

What's interesting about this Competitive Drive event is the addition of hero bans. The previous season didn't have this system in place. Early Season 16, however, introduced heroes bans to the Competitive Play game mode.

After selecting your preferred hero to duke it out as, you can choose up to three heroes to ban. The system then tallies up everything. In our match, for example, the bans went to Widowmaker, Sombra, Zarya, and Roadhog.

How Competitive Drives work in Overwatch 2

Similar to previous seasons, the Season 16 Competitive Drive event has a progression system. Match wins increase your Drive Score and get you that much closer to the next checkpoint. These checkpoints grant you the aforementioned rewards. Once you reach a checkpoint, your Drive Score can't fall below it. It's a good idea to party up with teammates so you can earn more Drive Score for victories as well.
