Here’s how to download the mid-season patch ahead of time!
Players can download the Overwatch 2 Season 10 mid-season patch ahead of time. Read on for the instructions on how to do this and how to automatically download future Overwatch 2 updates.
How to pre-download the Overwatch 2 mid-season patch
- Open the Battle.net launcher
- Log in to your account
- Click on the Overwatch 2 icon
- Click on the "Download Pre-Release Content" text
- Pre-download the Overwatch 2 mid-season patch
If you haven't made your Overwatch 2 updates automatic yet, then you can manually pre-download the Season 10 mid-season patch. Do this by opening the Battle.net launcher and signing in to your Blizzard account.
Next, navigate to Overwatch 2 and click on the game's icon. If you play the game a lot, it should appear in the banner indicating your favorite games. Right under the "Play" button, there's some text that reads "Download Pre-Release Content." Click on this to begin downloading the new patch ahead of time.

- Click on the blue Battle.net logo near the top-left corner
- Select the "Settings" option
- Click on the "Downloads" option
- Scroll down to the "Game Updates" section
- Select your preference for automatic updates

To automatically update Overwatch 2, navigate to the "Settings" area in the Battle.net launcher. Next, select the "Downloads" option and go under the "Game Updates" tab. There's a section there called "Automatic Updates." Select your preference before pressing the "Done" button.
