Overwatch just released a brand new Director’s Take, which discusses some of the best parts of the game.

One thing that makes the Overwatch community so strong is the fact that the game releases Director's Takes, which are blog posts that revolve around the game and give us an insight into what goes on in the game's developers' heads.

Recently, Overwatch 2 put out a new Director's Take, talking about why they have set up the game for the current season while also discussing some upcoming updates.

New Overwatch Director's Take talks about player choice

One big thing Overwatch has implemented into its decision process is player choice. The game had only started with a quick play option, but now gives players the ability to choose from various game modes.

This was a huge step forward for the game and its community, as many wanted to pick specific modes to play when hopping on. From 6v6s to Stadium, Overwatch 2 has a different game mode for everyone.

While there are five great ways to play Overwatch 2 right now, the game is releasing a brand new mode in Season 18 called "Unranked Stadium."

This is a huge addition to the game as it allows players to casually play Stadium without having to sweat it out.

"The goal is to make it easier to find what you love and to focus our support where it matters most," said Blizzard in their new Director's Take.

It doesn't end with what mode you play...

Blizzard also stated heavily on why it has chosen various other aspects for players to choose from once they pick their game mode.

"Mode choice is just the beginning," said Blizzard. "Some of the most meaningful decisions happen once you're in the game, which is where a lot of our recent features come into play."

The game has implemented different aspects players can choose from, such as Perks, Hero Bans and more.

"These kinds of systems allow more room for creativity, strategy, and personal expression. They also add a layer of depth we felt Overwatch was missing and give us more ways to keep things fresh from season to season."

Blizzard then announced that they have a huge update to Perks coming in Season 18, assuring players that they will be adding more meaningful choices. All of these choices are meant to help gamers tailor their experience to how they want it to be, giving Overwatch 2 fans a much more fun way to play the game.
