Players get the chance to duke it out in Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis in Overwatch 2’s Quick Play Hacked Assault game mode.
The Overwatch 2 Season 20 mid-season patch is now live. In addition to a bunch of balance changes and the arrival of mythic Magma Titan Doomfist, this update features the return of Quick Play Hacked Assault game mode.

Overwatch 2 Quick Play Hacked Assault
Starting Jan. 8, Overwatch 2 players can enter the Quick Play Hacked Assault game mode. This limited-time mode goes on until Jan. 11, giving folks the weekend to duke it out in three nostalgic maps. These are Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis since they're not typically available in retail Overwatch 2. We found that the Quick Play Hacked Assault map pool simply includes these three. Map voting still happens before each match as well.
Therefore, for a chance at entering Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis once again, select the e Quick Play Hacked Assault game mode from the main menu's top-right corner. Refer to our screenshots above for reference. Once that's done, choose from the five-versus-five (5v5), six-versus-six (6v6), or Mystery Heroes game modes. The first option offers Role Queue while the other ones are Open Queue.
- 5v5 Quick Play: Hacked - Role Queue: Choose a role before you play.
- 6v6 Quick Play: Hacked - Open Queue: Play any role. Maximum 2 tanks.
- Mystery Heroes: Hacked - Open Queue: Defeat the enemy team with every player using heroes that randomly change upon respawn.

We chose the "Mystery Heroes Hacked," option, which involved getting assigned a random hero to begin. Everyone also got two perks right away. We began and ended with Ashe with zero deaths, but the players who did experience eliminations respawned with a random hero.
