The bug allowed Kiriko to eliminate Genji instead of the other way around.
Overwatch 2's Mischief and Magic event has truly lived up to its name since the Prop Hunt game mode was full of chaos! Here’s what happened with the Prop Hunt Kiriko bug.
Overwatch 2 Prop Hunt event bug
When players first jumped into the limited-time game mode, some of them experienced an interesting bug. A video originally posted by NrenFRFX showcased this. The player's team disguised themselves as barrels before stunning their opponents and attacking them.
In this Prop Hunt game mode, Genji players were supposed to eliminate Kiriko players. Meanwhile, the latter participants transformed into objects before hiding around the Blizzard World map. Due to the bug, Kiriko players took out Genji teams instead of the other way around.

The Mischief and Magic bug for Prop Hunt no longer works. This is because Blizzard's Overwatch 2 team released a hotfix for it. Jared Neuss, the game's executive producer, provided more details on Twitter.
"We just released a hotfix for Mischief & Magic to prevent Rogues from eliminating Knights," Neuss wrote. "While I, Jared, am saddened by this hotfix I can begrudgingly admit that it's the right thing to do for the mode right now. Time to put away my kunai and re-sharpen my [hiding skills]."
This hotfix arrived a couple of days after the release of Prop Hunt on July 25. Prior to this fix, some players took to the Blizzard Forums and Reddit to inform others about the Overwatch 2 Prop Hunt event bug.
With this update, Genji players no longer need to hesitate near objects.
