Overwatch 2 Perks system debuts in Season 15

Blizzard has announced that Overwatch 2 players can expect a brand-new Perks feature starting in Season 15. Read on for the lowdown on Overwatch 2 Perks!

The new Perks system will arrive in Season 15 on Feb. 18, promising to shake up Overwatch 2's core gameplay. According to Blizzard, Perks will be these hero-specific bonuses that players can select and thereby customize their strategies.

"You will be able to choose from different upgrades to your hero's kit, creating new options to either cement your team's victory or to turn the tide away from a potential defeat," Blizzard explained.

In terms of how Perks work in the game, you'll get to level up your chosen hero twice per match. The first level-up will have you choose between two minor Perks. These are lighter upgrades like reduced cooldowns and small passives.

As an example, if you're playing as Torbjorn, then you'll choose between his Forge Hammer restoring your teammates' armor health or refilling Rivet Gun’s ammo when via Overload. Then, the second time you level up, you'll get to select a major Perk. For Torbjorn, you'll get to choose between putting your turret on walls and ceilings or getting a powerful level 3 turret instead.

As for when you can expect to test out these Perks for yourself, you'll be able to do so starting in Season 15 through the Quick Play and Competitive game modes.
