Here are our tips on how to win as Genji and Kiriko in Ovewatch 2’s Mischief & Magic game mode.
Overwatch 2's Mischief & Magic game mode is back! Basically, this is the game's version of prop hunt. In it, your team alternates playing as Genji and Kiriko. While Genji seeks, Kiriko hides. What's special about this version is that Genji and Kiriko are decked out in some cozy gear. You can also play the Winter Wonderland 2025 edition of Mischief & Magic for some event rewards!
Overwatch 2 Mischief & Magic: How it works
Mischief & Magic is basically prop hunt in Overwatch 2. It's a five-versus-five (5v5) game mode where your team switches between Genji and Kiriko each round. Genji seeks while Kiriko hides, and the first team to win three rounds claims victory.

Overwatch 2 Mischief & Magic: Genji tips
If your team is full of Genji players, then everyone's job is to seek out and eliminate all of the enemy Kiriko players who are disguised as props. As Genji, whenever you melee something, you lose a bit of health. Health can be gained back by using his ultimate. You can also dash toward a prop to attack it without losing any health, but the dash has a cooldown.
Another useful tip we have for Genji is to create a buddy system and be close to each other -- but not too close in case of multiple stuns via a single Kiriko. This way, if your teammate gets stunned, you can track where the culprit is headed and eliminate them quickly. This game mode gets easier once you become more familiar with the different maps, too. You can get a better idea of what belongs or doesn't belong where once you become more acquainted.

Overwatch 2 Mischief & Magic: Kiriko tips
If your team is full of Kiriko players, then you must hide. You can transform into different props and even stun enemy Genji players. These do have a cooldown. What's tricky about playing as Kiriko is that as the timer ticks down, you shout out voice lines that can give away your location. Work with your teammates to confuse Genji players if you wish to do so.
Additionally, once you choose your first hiding spot and anchor yourself there, you can still change your mind and move around to a new one. Another tip we have for Kiriko players is to hide somewhere that is high up. Mischief & Magic is a returning game mode in Overwatch 2, but not everyone has played it often enough. They can forget to look up while being flustered by all the new information.

Your team claims the match victory after winning three rounds in total. The reward is some Overwatch 2 Season 20 Battle Pass XP plus some coveted process toward the new Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland 2025 event challenges! Completing these challenges reward you with a temporary, in-game currency called Winter Wonderland Cookies, which can be exchanged for loot boxes, skins, and Battle Pass tier skips galore.
